In the past little while I've encountered two fun Marilyn Monroe quotes that I wanted to share with you... The first is this charming thank you note:

The other interesting thing I saw about Marilyn was a quote she once told an agent, that was featured in Architecture Digest. Marilyn the girl who made the phrase "Diamonds are a girls best friend" famous cared very little for things, and she owned no Jewelry.
That's right ladies... the icon of Diamonds are a girls best friend... did not even have her own diamonds (well at some point during her marriages she did in fact have diamond rings, but in addition to that, we're led to believe she had very little)... crazy right? My own armoire is spilling over with odds and ends and tidbits of jewelry that I have purchased and been given over the years... I can't imagine how many wonderful pieces Marilyn must have been given, and what on earth did she do with them? She once told an agent, "I'm not interested in money, I just want to be wonderful." In my opinion, any woman who truly feels that way is already wonderful!
What Preppy Wore:
We had guests in town this weekend and the preppy boyfriend had to travel on Sunday night as well, which explains the exhausted look on my face, because I am in fact exhausted. It also explains the messy loose 'bun' that I'm sporting today. It's a good look on some people... I'm probably not one of those people!

Silver, Black, Lace and Zipper Shoes - Buckle fall 2009 - These are my current favorite pair of shoes, I can't believe I made it three weeks into the challenge before I wore them...believe it or not they are super comfortable... second only in comfort to the BCBG heels that I sported with my white jumper two weeks ago.

Don't you just love F21 and their cute jewelry? I found a gorgeous ring there for $5 this weekend and actually had to post about it today! And those shoes?... so crazy fabulous! My kind of shoe girl! :-)

In other matters, I never knew this about Marilyn and her diamonds, and what a great thank you note. Could you just skip medical school, and find and report all these interesting things you know?
