Pink and Green Thursday Fruits and Veggies Edition

All we need is five servings of fruits and veggies a day... and when they look like this there's no excuse to pass them by!

Guava

MMmmm Apples and I love that pink and green dress

This salad from winter vegetables looks delish!

Granny Smith apples are a favorite of mine!

Red Pitaya - AKA Dragon Fruit

 Pineapple

Have you ever picked a bushel of cherries?

Yellow Watermelon - heirloom vegetables are available at your local farmers market and they taste oh so good!

Green tomatoes, if you come to my house for lunch in the summer you're either eating fried green tomatoes or BLT's!

Oh, sweet cherries!

I love limes... ask the preppy boyfriend, the number one thing I add to any dish is lime or lemon. If you often find yourself reaching for the salt, try adding lime or lemon to the dish, often times our tongue wants more acid in a dish, but our brain confuses the message and we reach for salt. It's the number one reason we over salt our food.

Some of my fondest childhood memories are wrapped around raspberries. Fresh raspberry milkshakes at the lake, sneaking down to grandma's garden to pick raspberries, and waiting oh so patiently for grandma to come visit in the fall and bring her jars of raspberry preserves. To this day I won't eat jelly or jams, I only eat raspberry preserves!

Long beans, green tomatoes and chilli's? Somebodies gonna have a good stir fry tonight!

Watermelon radish - such a pretty way to dress up a green salad

Pears... oh how I love pears... and a pear as a place card holder... I'm swooning!

Mmmmm heirloom tomatoes... seriously, buy some heirloom tomatoes either from your local farmers market or your local organic grocer, or better yet grow them yourself. They put supermarket tomatoes to shame... seriously eating a supermarket tomato is like eating cardboard compared to an heirloom tomato.

Another Heirloom watermelon, I know the yellow spots look like artful photography, but actually those spots are on the rind of the watermelon.

I love this strawberry topped with mint inside this cake... what a fun way to dress up a simple cake!

So, loves... can you find five fruits and veggies you would eat today?

Be to drop by Trish's blog and join in on the Pink and Green Thursday blog hop fun!

I try to have five fruit and veggies every day. For lunch today I will be having a salad with sliced tomatoes and an orange. For dinner I'm making a whole wheat pene with cherry tomatoes and spinach. And for dessery, we're having balsamic strawberries! Yum!

I love this pink and green post! It's so summery and now I am craving some of this fruit! I have always wanted to pick a bushel of cherries. Seriously, I might have to make a fruit salad today! All of these images are lovely.

Thanks for the comment! Glad you liked my post :) I like yours too- I was actually thinking about doing one similar to this because I have recently started to eat healthier and thought it would be cute to do a "healthy" pink and green Thursday! LOVE IT!

Hey beautiful! Happy Pink and Green Thursday sweet Elle!

What a gorgeous post, I am in LOVE with all your pictures, the guava, cherries, yum yum yum...you know which one is my favorite though? The green tomato on the vine, oh Elle, is there anything in the world that smells as good as tomatoes right off the vine?! I would love to be coming over for lunch this weekend for a fried green tomato sandwich with you!! What a delightfully preppy post! Sending you hugs and kisses xoxo
