Preppy Google Analytics Intrigue

All right, so for many of you in blog land google analytics is not a new thing. For those of you for whom it is new, a brief summary is this: google analytics tracks traffic to your blog for free, it tells you what websites lead people to your blog, and what keywords, and what search engines, and how many visitors you have, and how long they stay and how many pages they view and lots of other information. It's free to join and easy to figure out, so be sure to check it out if you are interested.....

As for my google analytics intrigue... so far the number one term that leads people to my website is "Pink Hunter Wellies" based on a post I did last summer about the pink wellies at J.Crew.

For a long time the number one term was "BCBG Rosette Dress" based on a post I did last spring/summer about this dress I was hunting for to wear to medical school interviews... I ended up not wearing the dress but it sure brought people to my website.... Anyway, I digress....

What I'm curious about are the number of people who come to my blog by googling the actual blog name, or something close, such as completely preppy, complete prep, complete preppy, etc.... Now, are these people lurkers, who don't follow and don't comment but enjoy reading my blog? Are they people who found my blog through Facebook, and then when I removed the Facebook link they started googling it to find it? So, are any of you my blog name googlers (this is your invitation to de-lurk, and welcome by the way)?

I'm not sure why I'm curious about it, I just am... I guess it's because I always go to blogs through my reader or a bookmark, so the idea of googling a blog name seems novel to me.

I use statcounter and love seeing how people get to my blog!

PS-I haven't seen Memento so I don't know if it is similar to Shutter Island. My dad has seen both and said they are not similar though. I guess I need to rent Memento ;)

One of my biggest keyword searches (according to Google Analytics) is "Midwestern Girl". I guess that makes sense, since I live in Indiana!
