The half marathon is 4 days away and I am so nervous to run it, but I'm so excited to meet up with CME from the blog Fun with the Super Munns. This is my first half marathon, but she's ran at least one before so I'm hoping I can tag along with her for at least a few miles and glean some great strategy!
In the meantime, my last two long runs have been sort of awful... but I'm not going to re-hash the awfulness, instead I'm going to focus on my awesome short run yesterday. I ran a 5K yesterday at an 8:38 pace.... hold on, let that sink in, 5K...at 8:38.
Yes, it was hard, yes I was dying at the end, but it was exactly the confidence boost I needed. Mile 1 8:21 -woot woot! My fastest pace ever! triple Woot! Mile 2 8:29... Mile 3 I died but ran an 8:56, and the .2 miles I ran a 1:42. That makes my total 5 K pace 27:29.6. :) I haven't done a very good job of keeping up to date on my running log, so while I was running I was pretty discouraged thinking that I was going much slower than my previous training personal records... but when I double checked tonight, I realized that I was zooming along! :)
Here's to a great run on Saturday! and San Francisco Marathon here I come!

YAYYY!! Congrats on an amazing run! I wouldn't worry too much about the last 2 runs. Like you said you just need to trust your training and it seems that you are more than prepared. Hopefully the excitement of the race will carry you through. So the race is on Sunday? Please let us know how it goes! xoxo
