Preppy Lazy/Busy and The Giveaway

Hello Readers,

I hit 100 followers on Friday, however since I was too busy at work and this weekend to acknowledge that I am extending my giveaway, originally I planned it to be the 7 days before I reached 100 followers, but since I'm announcing it today I'm going 10 days back, which means for every comment you have left on my blog from yesterday clear back to March 6th you've received one entry (it's too late to go back and comment now to get more entries as I've already tallied up all the comments), I will share the winner of the giveaway either later today or tomorrow....

In the meantime b/c I am too lazy or too busy to do a real post I thought this might be fun, you've probably seen it a million times before, feel free to copy it and use it on your own blog if you haven't had the chance:

24. Built a snow fort - Oh man, my grandmother knows how to build real igaloos, like people in the artic used to live in, and every Christmas break I would stay with her for a week, and she would build an igaloo big enough for me to stand in, and to have their samoid come in with me... some of my favorite childhood memories are in snow forts.

69. Saved a favorite childhood toy – Yes. Snuggle Bear, and the PBF has a stuffed bunny named Bun-Bun, and Snuggle Bear and Bun-Bun sit high on a shelf in my office snuggling each other so the puppies won't eat them. I also kept my childhood Lay-Lay (the nick name my little sister -who was born when I was 16, had for a blanket growing up, it just sort of stuck in our family and now the PBF calls them that too) I named it Ellie - b/c it had an elephant with a silk ear on it.

73. Stood in Times Square – Often, although more walking through it than standing in it, but I will never forget the wonder of my first few times into the City when we lived in NY, after a few months in the city I found times square to be overcrowded and annoying, darn tourists snapping photos when I've got to get somewhere in a normal time... ahhh the mentality of a New Yorker. I would however, like to see it now that it's been shut down to vehicle traffic. Oh and I can't believe I almost forgot this, but we stood in times square for 8 hours to watch the ball drop on New Years Eve 2008... Don't do it, incredibly disappointing - the ball is super small in real life, you can't see/ hear the New Years Eve Dick Clark show, or any of the musicians, and once you are in times square you can't leave for anything or they won't let you come back, so you stand there for 8 hours and then 15 mins before the ball drops all the smart people who rent hotel rooms on the square come rushing out and jostle you around so you can't hardly see. Oh and those big hats and noise makers they pass out so the crowd all looks one color on TV, yeah those block your view and you get really tired of hearing the sound of them about 4 hours in.

75. Been fired from a job - well-more like laid off b/c they were downsizing... does that count?
76. Seen the Changing of the Guards in London
77. Broken a bone - Collar bone when I was 4 I don't remember much about it apart from not being able to suck my thumb, and all the people in the ER asking me over and over and over if my parents did it to me, It was a fall b/c I was carrying a big toy up concrete stairs
78. Been a passenger on a motorcycle – Yes once and NEVER EVER AGAIN..... I value my skin, and my head, and my life thank you.
79. Seen the Grand Canyon in person - from a plane does that count?
80. Published a book – I haven't published a book, but I wrote a historical research paper that was published in a local history book does that count? My History author/editor grandmother was never more proud of me, except maybe when she found out I got into medical school... to which she promptly replied, hurry up and graduate so I can see you be a Dr. before I die... that qualifies as the most morbid thing anyone has ever said to me, especially since my grandmother is in great health and perfectly sane.
81. Visited the Vatican
82. Bought a brand new car – OK not brand new, but paying off my Explorer when it was used is still one of the biggest financial things I've accomplished, so it counts... it also counts b/c I will never buy a new car. In my opinion it's a waste of money b/c cars start losing value the day you drive them off the lot....
83. Walked in Jerusalem
84. Had your picture in the newspaper – More times than I can count, the benefits of growing up in a small town and being a hometown favorite.

89. Saved someone’s life – yes I was a lifeguard in high school, and was floating a natural river in lava hot springs idaho, and I water rescued a little girl who had fallen behind her family and fallen off of her inner tube. It's crazy how if you're well trained enough you just act without thinking and it turns out you do the right thing... Also, I'll be making a career out of saving lives when I'm a DOCTOR HURRAY!
90. Sat on a jury
91. Met someone famous – literally ran into Matt Damon on an NYC sidewalk, also saw The Donald outside of Trump Towers, and Ron Stewart dinning on Madison Ave, I also met Olympic Swimmer Chrissy Ahmen Leighton and got to hold her gold and silver olympic medals (those suckers are HEAVY), was the executive assistant for well known and published interior designer Charlotte Moss, and while working for Ms. Moss wouldn't let Damon Dash into the store after hours to help set up a trunk show for his wife Rachel Roy, b/c I thought he was a delivery man and didn't realize who he was
92. Joined a book club – YES! But we never had a meeting... haha
93. Got a tattoo – yes, I have permanent eyeliner, you wouldn't know it was a tattoo unless I told you, and I love it!
94. Had a baby
95. Seen the Alamo in person

98. Owned a cell phone - yes I got my first one in college
99. Been stung by a bee yes on the day of my aunt and uncles wedding in my flower girl dress, on my way from our room to the room where the ceremony was being held, and I screamed and freaked out b/c it hurt and I didn't know what happened... I was maybe 9

Love the list. Its the funny random things you would never think to ask. I also used to drive an explorer and I would NEVER buy a brand new car. I can't believe you did the Times Square New Years thing...its so cold in NY on New Years!!

Okay running wise...
When/how often do you take your GUs? You may be getting tired because you are running through your glycogen stores...? Also, do you eat before you go on your long runs? I always eat breakfast at least an hour before a run (2 hours before a race) and I eat a GU every 30-45 minutes...

I also wouldn't worry too much because during the race adrenaline will be flowing and the crowd won't let you stop/slow down so that should also keep you going!

What a great list and I love the celebrity part. If I had run into Matt Damon, I don't know what I'd do!
