All About The Preppy Boyfriend

Keri over at The Blue Eyed Runner asked me some questions about The Preppy Boyfriend and I... she pointed out that I haven't ever done a post telling our story, and I figured since this is The PBF's birthday week it would be a great time to do such a post.

I originally grew up in Wyoming. My hometown is so small that we only have two stoplights, but it's actually big for the area because we have the only two stop lights in the whole county... that's right folks, it's a BIG CITY :)

I went to college at John Brown University on a swimming and academic scholarship. JBU is in Siloam Springs, Arkansas.

In the summers I took courses at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.

I worked as a server in a fine dinning restaurant in Fayetteville, where The Preppy Boyfriend was working in the kitchen. We started hanging out one day when I picked up a Sunday brunch shift and a Sunday evening shift and I had about two hours between shifts, so we went over to his house and played  frisbee with his pups in the back yard.

PBF and I have been dating for 4 1/2 years. After we both graduated college he went on to Culinary School at the Culinary Institute of America.

We lived in New York for two years,

and spent 6 months in Orlando, FL while The PBF did his externship for culinary school.

After he graduated culinary school

we knew we wanted to move back to the south, but we wanted to move somewhere new to us, through various areas of research we ended up deciding that Austin was the place.

We've lived in Austin for two years this July, and then we'll be off to the San Francisco Bay Area.

You're coming out my way! I will say, the Bay Area, as we call it, isn't terribly preppy. But Austin will have been good preparation:). I love it here, I hope you have a great move.

Yay! Thank you for answering all my nosy questions and for telling us your story :) So cute! I love how you support each other in your career aspirations. You went with him wherever he needed to go for culinary school and now he is moving with you for med school. That is true love. Did you have the party yet? How did it go?
