The things you learn along the way....

Hello lovelies,

I've been thinking about this exercise we did in my Capstone of the Christian Life class at University. At the end of the semester, we were asked to write a note or make a collage for ourselves reminding ourselves of all of the things we had learned and wanted to remember from the course. The lessons that we wanted to shape our lives. On the final day of class, we took our notes and placed them in envelopes that our instructor mailed to us six month's later. My life was so drastically different six months after the course was over that when I received my letter to myself... I had to sit down with tears rolling down my cheeks and remind myself of all those wonderful things I had forgotten. I've realized lately that this blog has become a journal of sorts... most the time it's a journal of light hearted flippant ideas that flitter into and out of mind as quickly as I can put them on paper... but occasionally, I post something really, deeply true. Something that matters and is part of this fabulous learning experience called life. So, today I thought it might be fun to remind myself of some of the things I've learned along the way!

**In other words... I bring you an entire post where I speak to myself in cliche... aren't you lucky dear readers :)

A moment of reflection can inspire your dreams... and such moments are necessary to remind us that life is worth dreaming about!
Sometimes rest is all that's needed to set the world back to right again... and it's okay to indulge in restfulness!
All the good things in life are worth working for. Though the work may be hard, and tiring. Though you may be bruised at the end of the day, that work, those underlying aches and pains are what make the majestic moments possible!
Sometimes you'll have to stretch yourself further than you'd like, and sometimes just a little stretching feels awfully good!
It's okay to follow the path that leads you to accomplishing your dreams...
and with some work...
and the benefit of friendships along the way...

one day, you just might achieve those dreams... and then you quite simply feel as though you have taken flight!

Sometimes you're a mess, your hair is sloppy, your clothes are dirty, and nothing is buttoned up and packaged neatly. You've lost your temper, you've thrown a fit, you've made a mistake. At times like this... bows are nowhere in sight, and that's okay.

Then there are times, when everything is positively charming. Every hair on your head is in place, every area of your life is tied with a bow, the angels are singing, the flowers are blooming, and the sun is shining. This is okay too!

It only takes a change of perspective to create enchanted hours from mundane moments.

As a child it always felt so wonderfully fabulous to perceive oneself as almost quite grown up... being an actual grown up feels far less fabulous sometimes... and as with most things, this too is okay.

Don't forget to dance and celebrate and be joyful... merely just because!
