Lost in the snow..

Happy New Years Eve!

I have been busy catching up on every body's blog posts since I was on vacay. The morning after the ballet (which was so beautiful I absolutely forgot to breath), I flew to Utah to visit family over the holiday.

Cheffie flew out a few days later. We stayed in an adorable cabin near Jackson Hole, WY. Nestled in a valley between two mountains, next to a happy little brook. We watched the snow fall, we took a horse drawn sleigh ride, we ate delicious meals, we played cards. It was exactly the respite we needed. As usual in Wyoming we saw plenty of wildlife: Gold Eagles, Bald Eagles, Elk, Bison, Big Horn Sheep, Antelope, and Deer.

After a few days in the cabin, we headed off to Utah to visit the rest of my family. It of course snowed and snowed. Cheffie cooked Christmas eve dinner for everyone. We dug out an amazing sled run (that's right we had to dig out the sled run b/c there was too much snow to sled), we went skiing, we enjoyed hot spiced wine, and spiked apple cider, we made plenty of appearances at holiday parties, and I got to spend time with my sisters!

Eventually I will post some pictures. But for now I just wanted to say hello!

Going to the ballet....

Oh readers.... Cheffie has gone above and beyond!

We are going to the ballet this evening and last night I came home very grinch-like after an awful day at work and an even worse commute.

Well sweet cheffie, is just standing there with this big cheasy grin on his face and he asks me if I want a present. To which I replied "Presents? Of course I do!"

Cheffie bought me this beautiful watch to wear to the ballet.... always a man of surprising and yet wonderful taste!

Snow in Texas and what I love right now...

Early this week it was sunny and 70 as it is often here in Texas, I caught myself wishing for some weather as this time of year makes me want to light a fire and nest.... and boy did I get weather! We had a huge wind storm and this morning I woke up to snow... yes reader that's right snow in Austin. If only I had the presence of mind to capture a photo before it melted!

I also bought my first pair of designer jeans earlier this week.... scary thought I know! I saw a pair of these Hudson Skinny Bootcut Triangle Pocket jeans and fell in love with them, so much so that I ignored the budget minded voice in my head and bought them. I cannot wait for them to arrive!

I am in love with the OPI nail color "You don't know Jacques!", It's a grey, purple color that looks almost brown in the right light. I can't tell you how fabulous it is!

More Shoes....

So apparently I have shoes on the brain... I think it's because I have not been working on my figure lately (as in the last six months....) There are so many cute clothes out there, but we all know that shoes always fit :).

Here is my next shoe debate. I love these pretty little things and think they would be the perfect addition to my shoe collection but cannot decide which pair I like best....

What do you think (Lulu I fell in love with the pink ones after thinking about your pink wedding shoes).

The Boot Dilemma....

Readers I have a dilemma... I hate winter boots. I despise them, I truly believe there are few things tackier than UGGS. Because of this I have held off buying winter boots, but this year I will be spending the holiday skiing in Utah. I have been known to wear slippers to the ski slopes however, I think as an adult I really should arrive in some incredibly chic (yet affordable) boots. So dear readers, please give me your input on which pair I should acquire... and If they are all hideous but you have a great suggestion as to wear I can find some not so hideous boots please do tell!

The perfect shoes....

So...

I have found the perfect shoes. Really, really perfect shoes. Only I can only find them at DSW.com and they are completely sold out.... if any of you lovely readers have a few extra moments to search your favorite online shops the name of the shoe is the Steve Madden Luxe Swing Suede Platform. I'm definitely considering giving an arm for this shoe.....
